Queen of Double Eyes, Alex Garant studied visual arts at Notre-Dame–De-Foy College just outside Quebec City. After graduating in 2001, she ultimately settled inToronto, Canada. Garant’s paintings live in the balance between stillness and motion. The double vision vibration-effect that is prevalent in most works is a deliberate attempt for the paintings to cause dizziness and even phantom visions in the viewer.
After a health scare at the age of 30, the artist realized how fragile and fleeting life is. Fresh out of her recovery, the artist picked up some art supplies that had been laying around in her home and started painting again.
In the time that has since past, Garant has shown works all over Canada and the United States as well as Portugal and Australia; she also has been featured in publications like Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, Supersonic, Hi-Fructose Magazine, Juxtapoz, My Modern Met, The Huffinton Post, Mashable.com and many more.
15 pieces from Alex Garant have just been added to the Eyes On Walls collection and are now available in a variety of print formats including Fine Art Prints, Canvas, Mini Art Blocks and more.
